Alec, I believe the softness Jerry speaks of is from camera movement due to the long lens and the longish (for the handheld 420mm focal length) shutterspeed. But sometimes you have to go for it & damn the technicalities. Your choice was either to shoot this or miss it. I think you made the right choice. Nicely composed for an on-the-fly shot, by the way.
