ljk 0 Posted October 17, 2005 Despite the largest building being centered, does the composition work? Link to comment
nathan_ross 0 Posted October 17, 2005 The building is enough off centre for it to look just fine. Your balance of natural and artificial light is spot on - well done. Just 2 suggestions: Firstly, the converging verticals that make it all look like it's leaning over. Secondly, some cloud detail in the sky might help (or not - depends on the types of clouds). Cheers, Nathan (www.nathanross.co.nz). Link to comment
sarahunderhill 1 Posted October 17, 2005 This photo is perfectly exposed. great sky, reflection on the water and building lights. The composition works for me, but i might tilt the whole photo to the right. Good work. Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted October 18, 2005 When there are many different lines to the perspective it is the photographer's call on how to show it. I think you did a fantastic job of it and I like the matching frame. Very well done! Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted October 24, 2005 Excellent balance of twilight to artificial, getting the best of both worlds. (Nice timing). As to convergence etc it is a bit of a minefield and usually I sick to the principle of 'what looks right is right'. In this case to straighten it up would lose the feeling of height so I reckon it's fine as it is. Nice bridge! Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted October 24, 2005 I think that the composition works well! It's the interesting perspective that makes it work. It makes all of the lines in the buildings look like they're moving away from us. Link to comment
ljk 0 Posted October 24, 2005 Colin, you're right of course. The feeling of how buildings can soar, especially at night, would be lost with the straightening. Link to comment
