ljk 0 Posted October 16, 2005 Not much for autumn color in New England this year, but I spotted this in Chicago.... Link to comment
susan stone 0 Posted October 16, 2005 Now this is an original Fall foliage shot, I love the graphic detail of the grate superimposed over the colorful leaves. Very interesting and well seen and executed. Nice framing job too..... Link to comment
daily_photograph 0 Posted October 16, 2005 I merely had to turn it 90 ° counterclockwise and got the rating ... Link to comment
ljk 0 Posted October 16, 2005 Susan...as with any subject oft photographed, it's a challenge to find a different perspective. Thanks. Daily...much appreciated. You. Your visits. Your comments. Link to comment
bens 0 Posted October 16, 2005 hah! we think alike -- i posted a pic of leaves last week, falling over a car. this one, the colors and combination of lines and textures are great, but i would consider turning it so that the lines of the grating are on the diagonal. its a little static as is. thank you always for your visits. but thanks even more for your example. i am not the same photog because of you . . . thank goodness. ljk 0 Posted October 16, 2005 I'll have to try the other angle. I tend to like symmetry with chaos...but it may be that I fall into that rut too easily. I am always willing to consider, and learn. As I look at this image again, what I realize drew me to the form was that it reminded me on a rake as well... Link to comment
watermark_of_merni 14 Posted October 16, 2005 Linda I love the play of colors and textures in this photograph. Then seeing the few leaves and vine on top of the grate. The way the grate runs into your frame reminds me of my fingers on the blades of a rake and all the times I've pulled the leaves out of them. I can almost smell the scent of fall. A beautiful composition, you've done an excellent job on the positioning of the grate inside your frame. Good title too ! Merni Link to comment
sarahunderhill 1 Posted October 17, 2005 Leenda, I knew you took this.....but in Chicago...no rain! Good eye. Link to comment
afterthoughts 0 Posted October 18, 2005 One of man's devices imprisoning nature. I like how the frame works with the metal. Link to comment
v 0 Posted October 22, 2005 I agree with Howard: reminds of emprisonment of the leaves :) Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted October 24, 2005 Do you notice the ratio of spokes from outer to inner circle is 7:3? Now why do you think they made it like that? I ask because these are the questions which tax my mind. (;-)) Nice colours and design, Linda, very autumnal. Link to comment
