Black and White Ruffed Lemur (<I>Varecia variegata variegata</I>), semi-captive

A number of lemurs are confined to a private island that belongs to our hotel. Since lemurs cannot swim, they can roam freely on the island but cannot leave. They are fed by the care takers and visitors such that it is easy to photograph these lemurs.This image was shot with the 70-200mm/f2.8 AF-S VR at 70mm with an SB-800 for fill flash.
