j_kluska 0 Posted October 4, 2005 Hey Doc! If no one's said so lately, "Thank you." How'd you carry the tripod on patrol? Or, did you have a photographic assistant? Link to comment
arraga 0 Posted October 4, 2005 There's a bit of tension between the soldier and the (old style? this photo is before 1982) helmets which I like. They're like silent reminders of their trade, and the fact that there's one for each soldier adds to a sense of individual mission/fate. Hope they are well now. PS: I hadn?t read the description. War is hell, congrats on getting out alive. Link to comment
gmorais1 0 Posted October 8, 2005 The things did not change that so much, did they? Young people still die in foolish wars. A very good photo. Link to comment
bens 0 Posted October 12, 2005 hi joe, thanks for sharing these along with your thoughts. they are very powerful. as older photos, scanned in, they have lost some of their coloring and vitality. a few quick photoshop adjustments can help alot. hope you don't mind that i took this one and played with it for about three minutes to show you what you can do. i added contrast and darkened a little using levels, and sharpened a little using unsharp mask. mvisionphotography 1 Posted August 23, 2007 I was born in 1967, HA, silly isn't it. Enjoyed reading your BIO. Silly man you can't get stoned and work for the GOV (or "CAN" you) HA! LOL Hubby is in the NAVY now. In the military going on 17 years. Enlisted in the AF 13 then crossed to the DARK side to the Navy "O" for retirement reasons (ok more money). I just wanted to say thank you. I also understand what it is like in a small way to havea dad and mom sit next to someone that didn't come back. My GODFATHER was MIA for seven years till they declaired him dead. My dad was an F4 fighter pilot. I got to see and hear the door knockers when we lived in Japan and Austin Tx many times come to doors of my parents house. I just wanted to say thank you for not only serving but thank you for posting this picture and for the smile (and the OUT of REGS mustache HA). YOU were pretty cute hmmmAnyway, just thank you for sharing these with us! ~ Mickilook at this picture...My DAD came back his best friend did not picture Link to comment
