john falkenstine 1 Posted October 5, 2005 No..its NOT art..its a photograph of an Alley with 2 side walls. Its manipulated like the previous submittal, and as a result of the manipulation, a lot of interest in the image has been manipulated away to achieve a pseudo-artistic look. (Using a bad photograph for a bad manipulation?) Simply shooting down the center of the alley while standing holding the camera to your face is not very good composition. It appears no attempt was made to even squat down to get a different perspective. So, in reality, I find it to be a straightforward snapshot, that is poorly manipulated. So: originality is "touristy". Aesthistics.."Elvis on black velvet over the living room couch". Let's have more critique and less praise exchange for moldy bread. Link to comment
wolfman 0 Posted October 5, 2005 people look at stuff from different angles and becouse of that there are not many things that wil be pleasing to everybody. I like this picture a lot. Maybe John is right about the composition but if I remmember correctly everywhere we read about rules of composition we're encouraged not to be affraid to break them. PS work on this picture adds the right mood so in IMO this is great....keep up the good work Link to comment
