2. hong kong life Walking the pig!

Someone suggested I should cheer up. I hope this little view on life cheers you up.

 

It is possible this photograph is more about what you can't see than what you can. (I hope you get my meaning.)

I like it. I like the color of the carcass against the butchers paper. The motion blur is great. And the contrast of blue (should I say red) collar workers and the guys in the suits. You sure give interesting views of Asia.

This is an interesting shot David. As already stated, the colors work well. Amazing to see the man in the crisp white shirt participating in carrying the carcass with that stick resting on his shoulder. His wife must have called and asked him to pick up something for dinner on his way home from work.

Thank you both for commenting on this. It is a personal favourite. It seems I am not a good judge of what other people like. I thought this might be a winner but alas, no!

 

I am not sure if either of you are aware but the pig is already cooked. Someone must have been hungry.

All I can think about as I am viewing this photos is the taste of that roast pig in my mouth. Another great photo of a real moment in Hong Kong. I think I am going to drive to Chinatown now and get myself a big piece of fatty roast pork for dinner.

What I do not think anyone has mentioned until now is the idea of motion and purpose also conveyed by the persons above moving in the opposite direction. Yes David, a good shot taken from an interesting perspective, giving it a kind of voyeuristic viewpoint.

You are correct John. I do feel this image is enhanced by the people you can't see at the top of the frame. There is obviously an exchange going on between them. I just wish I knew what it was.
