I've tried to give a picture I've made by daylight a more moody look

than the place already has by itself. I'm not sure about the result,

so all your constructive critiques are very welcome.

Wow this is one great photo good for halloween night. I love the details on the steps and the colour in them. the little light that is on in the top left hand corner makes it that creepy feeling as well.

This makes me think of a gothis novel, Ada. Disquieting atmosphere very well rendered.

Ha Ada, ik had als kind een boek met de sprookjes van Grimm. Daar stonden prachtige spannende en griezelige plaatjes in. Ik veronderstel dat jij in een vorig leven de illustrator van dat boek was. Als dat niet het geval is, zou ik eens wat uitgevers bellen dat je klaar bent om de hernieuwde uitgave van het sprookjesboek te illustreren. Er wacht je een gouden toekomst in een geheel nieuwe carriere.

 

Bij de weg.... Graag uitleg hoe je dit gemaakt hebt. Stiekum vraag ik ernaar omdat ik ook wat Brugse fotos hier op photonet heb staan die het misschien verdienen om bewerkt te worden met de beroemde SAM, de Super Ada Methode!!!!

 

Ik bedoel maar.

When I posted this picture I couldn't think that it would be appreciated so much. I was really in doubt about the light etc. Well, all your positive, great and sweet comments make me clear that I did a good job, so I'm really very happy!

 

I will thank you all for the time you've spent to watch and comment my attempt to turning day into night and to make a moodful fairy tale-like image.

 

Some people (Uros and Bram) asked me about the method I've used. Well, I don't have a special method. I've played around with 'curves' and 'hue and saturation' in PS. I've used a tool of which I don't know the name in English. It's a tool to give details in the picture an extra accent (more dark or more slight). And for the sky I've used an other picture (failed fullmoon shot which I luckily didn't throw away). And that's it. But if I'm honest, I spent a lot of time to play with the tools to come to the final composition and even now I'm not totally content with the result. But all your great comments and kind words give me a wonderful feeling! Thanks again to all of you!

Hallo FLORE, voor jou een regeltje in het Nederlands al weet ik dat je al een heleboel van wat ik in het Engels geschreven heb best kan lezen. Ik vind het zo fijn dat je mijn foto lekker eng vind. Dat was namelijk ook de bedoeling. Zelfs sommige volwassenen hier vinden hem 'creepy', nou dan is hij dus echt wel heel erg eng! Bbbrrrr...... ik beloof je dat er binnenkort een foto komt die nog enger wordt en die maak ik dan speciaal voor jou en voor Ruben. Nog even geduld hebben.... Dikke kus van Oma! XXX:)

 

Hoi Bram, ik denk dat je mijn uitleg in het Engels over de 'SAM' (lache!) wel begrepen zult hebben (alhoewel, ik weet dat mijn Engels bar slecht is dus...) Mocht je er geen bal van snappen dan zal ik het je wel via een mail uit de doeken proberen te doen. Wat je schrijft over de sprookjes van Grimm, jazeker die ken ik. En dat je mijn foto met die prenten vergelijkt dat is wel het mooiste compliment dat je me had kunnen geven. Ben ik echt hartstikke blij mee en trots op. Meen ik!!! Haai Bianca, even reageren in het Nederlands. Bedankt meid voor je lieve commentaar. Jij houdt dus ook zo van dit soort sfeertjes! Sommige foto's lenen zich ervoor en dit was er zo eentje. Ik zag het al meteen toen ik op dat plekje stond. Maar het was hartstikke druk met toeristen die dag daar in Brugge en ik heb heel lang moeten wachten tot het moment dat er eindelijk even niemand meer over de brug kwam. Maar mijn geduld is beloond. Ik heb mijn plaatje en ik ben best een beetje trots ja. Groetjes Bianca en tot ziens, Ada:)

Nou met je 6/6 ben ik erg blij hoor. (Had ik jou maar geen 7/7 moeten geven) LOL Maar met je commentaar ben ik nog blijer. Hoe ik het gedaan heb kun je hier boven in mijn steenkolen Engels lezen. Ik heb echt geen hoogstandjes in PS uitgehaald want ik snap daar eigenlijk maar heel weinig van. Zelfs het samenvoegen van de twee foto's van verschillende afmetingen (een hoogte en een breedte foto) betekende al een hels karwei voor me, kun je je voorstellen hoe veel tijd ik kwijt ben geweest om de rest een beetje fatsoenlijk te krijgen. Ben nu dan ook echt helemaal uitgevloerd en blij dat het weekend is. Vroeg naar bed en uitslapen is de planning, of het gaat lukken is maar afwachten;~)

Ada what you did here is amazing.

At first, you saw it.

Second, you made a great picture with a fine composition.

But what you did in PS, is a miracle to me.

You bring a kind of horror sphere to us with special light effects and cool colour-tones.

The light gap in the air is great in contrast of the dark entry.

If it was possible, I give you sevens for this.
