manel_soria 0 Posted September 29, 2005 I'm really impressed with your bird photos. Excellent, congratulations. I'm also trying to expand from insects to birds, I find it difficult (mainly to find them). Link to comment
Coho 2 Posted September 29, 2005 Terrific catch for both of you... This species of Kingfisher seems to be quite common on PN and in Isreal lately. I have a different species near my house (much less colourful) but they never sit still long enough for me to get a good picture. Can you describe the environment where you and others are getting these images? How close were you? Thanks. Link to comment

claudia.vogl 0 Posted September 30, 2005 hey, i don't know, if the rating of sir biss attracted your attention, but i think, he uses the rating as a kind of revenge. i also rated his latest photo directly with a 2/2 and just a few hours later, he rated one of my photos the same way (before that my photo was rated with 6/6).i'm new at this community, so i want to ask your, if there is a possibility do something against such an unfair rating. kind regards. claudia Link to comment
JRX94 0 Posted September 30, 2005 what can i say ? *jealous sigh* you treat birds just like you treat flies. Nothing to add, it's just great. Link to comment

allonkira 0 Posted October 1, 2005 Thank you all guys for your nice comments and warm words!! Manel, I'm sure you'll do an excellent job on birds photography - just like your macros!! David - I shoot kingfishers at a small lake in a town calls Rishon Le-Zion, near Tel-Aviv. You must use a blind for this kind of shots. First, I put a perch in the water 3-4 meters from my blind. the camera is placed on a tripod. I try to locate the blind on the perfect angle from the perch (light and background) and wait...usually after 5-10 minutes the celebration began:) Vezon - thank you man! Your birds gallery is an inspiration for me. I'm glad you liked this one! Claudia - yes, the rating of sir biss attracted my attention. But I decided not to take this behavior too seriously. You can always send an e-mail to abuse@photo.net. Pitman - it's not strange. Israel and I shoot the same bird at the same time from the same place. No wonder our images are similar. THNX AGAIN! allon. Link to comment
