watermark_of_merni 14 Posted September 29, 2005 The Quails stance makes a graceful form, nice how the lone feather is there. I especially like the gold and gray on its breast. and then seeing the details of the post where its standing. Merni Link to comment
jerry ting 1 Posted September 29, 2005 AK and Merni for your comments. This is my first encounter with the California Quail in person. Such a cute and beautiful bird. Here is another shot with a group of them. Link to comment

dk. 0 Posted September 29, 2005 Thats a great shot Jerry, There's only one thing that I think would make this picture better but it has to do with the frame, I would lose the white and use a softer colour as I find it strong and taking away from the picture. I am not sure which one though maybe that light brownish colour on its breast but I am not sure. Very well done Jerry I must find this magic post of yours. :o) DK. Link to comment

scottneuner 0 Posted October 1, 2005 This really captures what I have only seen in a fleeting moment. These little guys are on the run long before I show up! Nice capture of an elusive subject. If your down in the Monterey/Carmel area let me know, I'd like to get together for some shooting Link to comment

jerry ting 1 Posted October 1, 2005 Leann, David, Hector, Svetoslav and Alex for your kind words. Really appreciated. And David, I agree with your opinion about the framming. It does look weird. I guess I should go back to black. Link to comment
