The Acropolis in Thessaloniki

There isn't just the Acropolis in Athens, there are Acropolis(es) in

many Greek cities, like for example in Thessaloniki (this photo).

Usually they are on a higher place, as, a friend of mine in Greece

told me, the Acropolis was the last refuge in case of fight (something

what can be find also in the age displayed in the Lord of the Rings).

Here merely the silhouette of the stone Acropolis in Thessaloniki can

be seen.

Since some time I have noticed that correct exposure does not help

when photographing something placed in shadow in front of a sunny

background :(
