StephenElia 0 Posted September 17, 2005 A beautiful rose garden in Portland, Oregon. Peninsular Park. This almost borders as an abstract... Just thought it was more of a landscape. Let me know what you think. Thanks Link to comment
arie07 0 Posted September 17, 2005 The title "rose etc.." mmm... how to say it? I believe the photo still has lots of place for improvement, the foreground is way too dark, the rose bushes... where are they? you must look for them. I took the liberty of editing the lighting but it does not make the photo as a whole work much better. Keep trying and improving!! Link to comment
StephenElia 0 Posted September 17, 2005 Thank you for your input. I thought about the "lighter" version myself. I just thought the symmetry would be enhanced by saturation and less overall light. I do mention it is a rose garden. It is not the main topic. They are there to see. Just not the subject of my composition. I wanted to focus on the hedge and 4 trees without drawing someone to other parts. It might be too dark... If you look hard on the left path there is part of a kids toy sticking up. It is barely visible...but there. This image was caught as I was leaving the park and thought "hmmm....this might be a nice shot..." It was a quick shot. I will go back on a bright cloudy day to exaggerate the saturation. I do appreciate your wisdom though. I am always striving to improve. Link to comment
