salvatore.mele 1 Posted September 16, 2005 We were having a long break on the approach to a hut, from were we'd have had an alpine ascent on the following day. This was a beautiful and quiet stop to read...I stepped back and took a picture of my pack and my book. Do you think it would have looked better if I had removed that plastic bag sticking out of my pack? Your comments and criticism are much welcome. Link to comment

dave_holland 0 Posted September 17, 2005 These are always difficult because you can't carry all your best equipment (tripod, etc). Often friends aren't too keen on being an unpaid model when it comes to careful setup, and if you act as your own model you mostly guess about position. You do have a critical and colorful foreground element, but position and complexity with the bag etc is a little distracting. One can always talk about what you could have done differently, but the opportunity won't come again soon. I find the way your hip straps engulf the distant lake to be a little distracting. That said, you have reproduced the feeling of 'being there'. The book tells a little story as well. Therefore I would say that you got the job done! Bravo. Link to comment
