olli.pekonen 0 Posted September 11, 2005 Still the same worn genre for fashion porfolio in the emerging autumn weather. Comments, please! Link to comment
jerrymat 3 Posted September 11, 2005 I like the picture but I couldn't help thinking that it would have been so much more interesting if she were in the window. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted September 11, 2005 Ok, I can accept the pointish light in this one because of overall composition and situ. There is always a problem of distance when using flashes. Here the branches nearer the flash have a little bit too much light and the ones further away on top too little. It is a very open composition with small key object (the lady) meaning it only works well in a large print. Pose is not bad, but the hand resting on the hip disturbs the hip line and the waist/hip-ratio. Also her right inner thigh looks a bit flat/untrained because of the direct light. Genre-wise it could have an element of sin - her smoking or somethng. Also you could consider having no eye contact to distance the viewer - optional. Nevertheless, there is a good idea here and the execution is not bad either. The genre bases quite strongly on ambience and emotion, but this leaves me emotionless. People who are interested in her will obviously say it is a smashing photo so I guess it is functional. Link to comment
phillipmarcovallentin 0 Posted September 11, 2005 Considering you were only using two 420ex'es - outside - it's not bad at all. I'm certain most other readers/viewers, would agree with me, that small flash units like these really aren't geared for lager outside work. With this in mind, I think you did a damn fine job!
