aepelbacher 0 Posted September 10, 2005 I don't know ... I was drawn to the different directions of the roof tops. Are the bushes too ... um, bushy? What do you think? Link to comment
sondra kick 0 Posted September 10, 2005 Lou Ann, thats the first thing I thought of too, different roof lines. How does it look in color with those nice red tiles? By the way I am 5 min off the interstate at Victory Blvd, Exit 256. It would be fun to meet. Sondra Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted September 10, 2005 Hi Sondra!! Here it is, un-cropped and in color. I boosted some of the levels/saturation. It was in the middle of the day and the day was bright. I switched it to B&W for two reasons. First of all, I wanted to accentuate the lines in the rooftops. Secondly, the sky was so bland that there was nothing I could do with it. I will e-mail you when I know more about the conference. I may have to drive down with colleagues, and if the schedule is tight, it may not work. But we might oughta just meet up one of these days for fun anyway! :-) Link to comment
davidroossien 0 Posted September 11, 2005 I think I'd crop the sky out completely, and the left corner too, just to keep the viewer moving upward. Start in the bottom right corner, up the hedge, then on the short roof, then upward to the right. The left roof is just an anchor for the rest. Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted September 12, 2005 I think I can see what has attract your eye here: the graphic of the roofs and the opposition between the red and the green. In this case, the black and white is destroying this opposition and the colour version is better. As for the composition, I think you could crop out all what is too much. I suggest this croping. pnital 36 Posted September 12, 2005 Lou Ann, I agree with Henri, in this case the colored version is the prefered one imo,the complemetary colors of the roofs and vegetation are very good together here. I would have croped it as well, but not so tight as Henri's crop. What do you think?( I don't rate it). Pnina Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted September 12, 2005 You can feel free to rate it however you want! :-) I like both of the crops ... and find it interesting that you both preferred the color version. I'll keep that in mind. I wasn't even thinking about the complementary colors ... just the lines........ Link to comment
rkynast 1 Posted September 13, 2005 Hi Lou Ann. As soon as I saw the color version, I liked it better. Henri and Pnina have already covered this well. Regards. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted September 16, 2005 I agree the colour works well too. Not sure which crop I like - both serve to concentrate on the roof geometry. (note mathematical connection?). Link to comment
kyang 0 Posted September 18, 2005 Lou Ann, first time I look at the post. I was not sure which version I work the best. After quite some, I think I like the original b/w the most. The color doesn't show much benifit from its colr, while the other crops are a little busy. Very interesting work. Link to comment
