The ostrich boy

First, thanks for your review of one of my photos recently!

This photo is composed in a casual but smart and clean way.I like the horizon framed between the terrace chairs and the canopies. Together with the tracks on the sand and the direction of the rows of chairs and canopies, this creates a wide and deep spatiality, appropriate for a beach setting. Important feature is also the use of B/W which -given the subject matter- removes any excess holiday snapshot-feeling from the photo.

I quite like it.

Alon, your photos are for me sources of suggestive thoughts and at the same time sources for learning and for getting ideas.

Such an unusual beauty on this picture, where the rectangle of umbrellas is formed out of half-spheres - the umbrellas themselves on a sand plane. And the child is the only exception from the quite strict and simple geometric ordering. wonderful also, how the umbrellas seem just hovering in front of the sky background.

The child seems to try to mimic the umbrella, but it remains a child, playing, staying outside the strict arrangement, outside the rules. And while the arrangement is welcoming us to sit down and relax, it is but a tiny place compared to the endless plane of childhood's joy!

An exceptional moment which lives from perspective, lighting and detailes put in scene in a wonderful way.
