Each year around 50 people end their lives by jumping in front of a London tube train, thats an average of around one a week.

seperation, bereavment, bullying and serious illness are amongst the causes although there are many more.

Like all big cities with thriving communities lonliness is omnipresent all you have to do is look around and you will find it on every corner, shop doorway, park bench.

Why has the ability to comfort/assist our fellow human beings degressed to such a level where our only interest is in grabbing a sneak theif look at ther demise inwardly reproaching them for being selfish.

Clinical depression affects around 17% of the population at some stage of/in their lives, Think about it, 17%, this could be a member of your family, your lover, friend.

It is not racist nor does it choose a preference in wealth, faith or gender it could be you or I that suffers, and when or if we do, who will care about just another sad statistic that makes two lines in some obscure news article.

Hi Hugh! I enjoyed viewing this one and reading your background comments. I especially like the stretched like cellophane effect on the train. This certainly makes the impact/statement you describe. Seeing the person's back/side gives this anonymity. I wonder what it might look like with the side of the face--to make this more personal and better connect the viewer with the scene. Anyway, well seen and thought provoking work.
