Ken, action shot goal achieved. Do more. I think the backgroud blur is just right as it doesn't distract but gives us some context for the shot.

Would have like to see more of the ramp. To give perspective, from this picture you can not tell how high he is. There is a great detail in the rider but I think for bmx street photography you need to show the ramp as well.

There is no ramp. This is Louisville's Extreme Park. Basically, it's a series of concrete pits open to anyone with the desire to risk life and limb. It amazes me how many parents allow their kids, unlike this fellow, to participate with little or no protection. Thanks for your comment.

Well caught, Ken! The detail of his face and arm are very good and give a good sense of the action. If you include more context as suggested you would tend to lose that detail. Admirable shot!

Great clarity and action shot. I probably would not have cropped it quite so close but your interpretation is quite effective and seems to emphasize the figure well and that is the point after all. I find my eye drawn right to the face.
