michaelseewald 237 Posted September 2, 2005 Re-post. The first lacked blacks I noticed. This image is stunning in a 4 foot x 4 foot rendition because of the intense amount of small detail. You can see the jewelry in the window, the time on the clock back in the city streets, etc.. As a small image you can only appreciate the feel of the place, light wise. I've included this one in the 2005 art calendar, signed and numbered limited edition of 499. Link to comment
billfoster 0 Posted September 2, 2005 Beautiful! I tried to take this picture three or four times when I was there but was never this successful. Great work. Link to comment
john falkenstine 1 Posted September 5, 2005 Mike, as with your image as usual; nice. But as you can see, you're at the bottom of the pile, in the er...dregs...I see your images are receiving the same reception as mine are. Photo.net appears to be about insect pics, zoo animals now. Got any sugar-coated sunsets anywhere? These get more visibility... Link to comment
dennisdixson 0 Posted September 5, 2005 Very nice. In my own experience I have only seen anything somewhat similar to this in italy. I am sure the web version does not do it justice. I would not worry too much about the ratings game or lack of exposure on photo.net there are people who follow your work and Johns as well. Link to comment
billfoster 0 Posted September 5, 2005 I came across this again in the follow-up comments section and I was shocked - shocked, I tell you - to see the ratings! This is a great, great photograph and I know from experience how difficult this was to achieve. The rest of your portfolio looks stunning as well. Congrats! Link to comment
michaelseewald 237 Posted September 7, 2005 I did not know it made it to the bottom of the 'heap', but I had not followed it either. Thanks for the moral support. MS Link to comment
jana 1 Posted September 9, 2005 Michael, very very good. I know how diffcult it is to get a good exposition in this light, I tried so many times, but mostly the result was not there. You did here very well. I like the low shutter speed showing the motion of the people. The inside of the market is very enigmatic. jana (P.s. Michael the description says China..) Link to comment
