mcgarity 0 Posted September 1, 2005 There is good and there is bad. The good. The simplicity of the composition is a positive IMHO. The curves of the water and the reflection of the clouds in it are nice. The horizon line could be nudged up just a bit but is not too far from optimum. The bad. It looks underexposed to me and I think the tonal qualities are lacking. Its got a muddy cast to it and has an overall lack of contrast. Link to comment
nicolasbryant 0 Posted September 1, 2005 thanks for your input, I understand your view. I usually always retouch slightly my pictures, mainly because the D70 on purpose underexposes pictures (for safety reasons I've heard) I was quite happy for once with the direct output and let it untouched. I did notice though that by saving it "for the web" it did lose some tones and maybe contrast I guess this is what you found lacking. This picture was taken a few hours ago after a long wait for the sun to go under the clouds making the set magical. So I think "the bad" in this case is just my post "processing fault" and I'll try to do best next time :) Link to comment
