bentes_world 0 Posted August 30, 2005 The last one in the serie of vegetables and other stuff in the barn .... I guess. Comments very welcome. Link to comment
andrew_bridges 0 Posted August 30, 2005 Contrary to Gary's comment, I don't think this photo is too common or lacking in thought process. If anything, perhaps it has a bit too much thought process; the items look so carefully placed and composed that none of them can pass for having been "left behind." The lighting, however, looks very natural and appealing, and it's easy to imagine this setup working very effectively in a less rigid still-life idea. Link to comment
stephengalea 0 Posted August 30, 2005 I really like how you composed the above image.. If i may, one thing i suggest is to burn sligtly the left white area, as it a sore point to the eye... - I.E it captures attention to the viewer, while the right part and all other elements are the point/s of interest.. Try and cover the left part with your finger and you might see that it would be better.. Greatly composed and lite.. Well done. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted August 31, 2005 Nice composition. Extremely nice soft color. Reminds me of Polaroid film shots by Marie Cosindas from the 1960's. Hey Gary welcome to Photonet. Looking forward to more of your insightful comments. Link to comment
bentes_world 0 Posted August 31, 2005 Gary .... you might be right even I think I put some thoughts process in it. I sopose you put all you could of your thoughts in process in your comment .. so thanks for taking you time to comment. Link to comment
bentes_world 0 Posted August 31, 2005 Andrew ... I got your point. It is arranged. Absolutely it is and perhaps the title is way wrong when it says 'things Left Behind'. Thanks for taking you time to comment and I find your comment helpfull if I should want to shoot something like this again. G Steve ... you might be right that the light spots on the wall to the left is disturbing and you are right I can change that in PS but part of doing this kind of photos is the sport to do it in the take and not too much in PS except USM and Levels. Very happy you like it and thanks for stopping by and comment. Rick ... thanks to you too for commenting. Honestly I don't know the woman you are mentioning but I'll look her up. Glad you like it too. Link to comment
sondra kick 0 Posted August 31, 2005 You do a good job of arranging items for your photos. This is a good combination. Cheers, Sondra Link to comment
k c 0 Posted September 1, 2005 I like this arrangement (the shovel and the fork) better than that in your BW image, but I like the lights in your BW one better than here. Anyway, I like them both! (i guess i have way too common taste. haha) Link to comment
ned1 0 Posted September 1, 2005 I guess I have no thought processes, but it looks good to me! Link to comment

1000wordsphotography 0 Posted September 11, 2005 Common? no thought process? Gary is way off base. (It seems "common" is a common thread in his comments on photos. Of couse he has none of his own posted.) I know you put much thought and effort into your photos Bente. Though these may be common items in a garden shed, the photo is not common, rather I find it interesting. The sublte color is what appeals to me first, then the great lighting. Lots of great textures and I can almost smell the earth left on the veggies and gloves. If I were to change anything I would come in a bit tighter and show less of the floor and left hand wall and more of the detail of that blue container. The wooden walls remind me of some of KW's set ups. Your lighting is every bit as good as one of his stills. Link to comment
