pbajzek 0 Posted August 31, 2005 Robert, as always your lighting is spectacular- I admire the way you always achieve excellent separation of the model from the background, something I struggle with at times. I think the model's pose here seems a bit less "comfortable" or natural than some of her others, but the gradation from hilight to shadow across her body is awesome. Link to comment
art wadgymar 0 Posted August 31, 2005 Great photo, I envy your control of light and your gorgeous model. Was the photo manipulated at all in the computer? Link to comment
robertfarnham 0 Posted August 31, 2005 Peter, I agree with the "less comfortable" comment. Unfortunately with the 4x5 it's a one shot deal, and my timing often sucks. I posted it because I love this simple lighting. Separation is quite easy...she's standing about 6 ft from a pure white background - it's lit with spill light to a more neutral grey while she's half light/half dark because of her proximity to the softbox, which is just out of the frame. Arturo, other than the normal scanning adjustments for levels, this is unmanipulated...not that I'm against manipulation. I just didn't see the need here. The positive from the Type 55 looks just like this. Link to comment
a long time ago 0 Posted September 5, 2005 this makes me want to give up shootin' birds...Awsome shot of a FANTASTIC woman..It's not to often I see something like this and say you could crop it just below the shoulders and still leave me with a big grin on my face....I am inspired! Link to comment
robertfarnham 0 Posted September 5, 2005 The beauty of shooting large format is that I could crop just below the shoulder and still get a good 11x14 out of it... Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 1, 2005 Photograph of a goddess! How did you talk her into shooting with a mere mortal? Does this mean there's hope for me? Hopefully, the ambulance is on its way to my house...I would dearly like to survive the coronary that resulted from my viewing of this image. Do I really need to tell you that this is superb? Of course not. Link to comment
John Peri 1,032 Posted January 2, 2006 Now if anyone understands, it's Jim above! Truly though, a magnificent picture. Love the flowing lines and interplay of shaded areas. Once again, superb, well done. Link to comment
