I'm glad I dropped in today. This is a great photo, and the use of the filter obviously did a great job. Wonderful. Can you see me sitting over there by the water wheel? Well, you're not looking hard enough. Congratulations.

Interesting effect. The colour and IR tones make the reflection in the cold water stand out well. I have seen quite a few shots of this nice old mill and when I get to US (no plans as yet) I will really have to see it for myself. regards - Colin

You need to fix that horizon, it's off by just about 1/2 a degree. Otherwise, this is quite pretty. Wonderful reflection.

Barry,Colin, and Benjamin, thanks for your support. Colin, I painted the mill's reflection in the water. Cheers, Sondra

Sondra, in the past year or so, there have been at least a dozen shots of this mill posted on PN. I do believe this is probably the best overall....Jim

Nicely done! I believe that's Mabry Mill off the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia? It's one of the most photographed places in Va. I read somewhere.

The foliage frame is very nice, good composition, who cares that it was photographed a lot...that one is nice! Pnina

Very well composed, Sondra. The natural framing of the foliage makes this a superb image. The tones complement the main subject very well. Very well done. -David

Sondra-Congratulations on a very unique shot of one of the coolest mills I've ever seen! I've always wanted to see this mill because it always looks so neat in pictures. I'm going to be heading up to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Shenandoah NP in a couple weeks--is it worth the trip out west to see Mabry? Is it just as scenic on the way out there? I want to see the mill but don't want to drive all the way out to it if it is not very scenic on the way out. But, if it is just as scenic as heading through Shenandoah NP I'll definitely drive that way on the parkway. Let me know any thoughts you have!

Tyler, we have been from one end of the parkway to the other and it is all beautiful. Mabry Mill is about 20 miles from the NC state line and it is very worthwhile. I stop everytime I am near; each season is different. Enjoy! Thanks for your comment.
