ken_thalheimer 3,739 Posted August 30, 2005 I think the background is too close to her and detracts. Her expression appears she's really not into it Link to comment
alan_willis3 0 Posted August 30, 2005 her expression almost suggests anger--to me, anyway--in street shots and other settings, that can send a strong message, but is it the best for nudes? almost seems she feels as though she's being invaded -- unless that's what you want, I agree with above comment. graham john miles 0 Posted September 3, 2005 It's not what we traditionally think of in a nude since it does not appeal to our imaginations. This is not an enticing pose or expression, but it is still a valid and fascinating image. I love the subdued lighting, and the sense of immediacy it gives. I love the colour and texture of the models skin. There is a bizarre quality that I find appealing and it's not hard to suggest there's an element of Diane Arbus in the study. One danger that any photographer should be aware of is cropping to close to the subject. She is hunched over, almost as if the frame of the photograph is closing in on her. I would love to see this shot a little wider to show the lower part of her legs, but overall I find it satisfying, with the exception of wanting to balance her position a little more central. The slightly wider gap to the left bothers me a tad. Link to comment

iz4u954 0 Posted December 18, 2005 To me, this image conveys intense anger and oppression. Why is this lady naked? Why is she sitting there, looking at the camera? And why does she have such an angry visage? Yes, the tight cropping suggests oppresion. Not all nude photographs have to be lovely images. There are so many out there, many of which are all the same, that this is a refreshing, albeit, disturbing image. It really give the viewer cause to reflect upon it. Link to comment
