jmoody 0 Posted August 31, 2005 Another in a series I took at this luau. Little faster shot... little less chaotic than the other. any thoughts, comments, or ratings appreciated. Anyone think I should clone out the far left- girl and or the upper left "light"? I'm leaning that way, but don't know if they're distracting enough to warrant the manipulation. Thanks in advance Link to comment
jmoody 0 Posted August 31, 2005 by the way. judging from some of the ratings I got on the last one... the blurring is on purpose. you have no idea how boring & plain the sharp ones were :-) Link to comment
lauro1 0 Posted September 11, 2005 A well composed movement photograph. Maybe it would be more interesting without the light in the top left-hand corner, which is a little bit distracting. Regards. Link to comment
derekwin 0 Posted November 3, 2005 I really like this one. It looks more like a multiple exposure than a motion blur but that is a good thing I am thinking about trying that. The faces look clear and in focus. Great job. Link to comment
YKV 1 Posted November 11, 2005 "Looking to improve as much as possible before going completely broke trying... ANY advice on how = friends for life." Looks like I am broke already. No joke... Whadya want to improve here? It's per-feCt! Link to comment
jonathancharlesphoto 0 Posted January 8, 2006 Interesting to me as this is the kind of thing I am experimenting with. You've done a good job here, especially capturing the most central (and ? prettiest) face fairly clearly amongst all the movement. The main problem is the cut-off feet - a mistake I repeatedly make myself however much I try to avoid it! - I think the best solution now is to crop closely above to keep the overall balance. This also solves the light question. I would keep in the last dancer as she shows the scene extends beyond the frame emphasizing that the picture is just a sample of what is going on, leaving the rest to the imagination. It also helps to justify the missing feet! I would also keep the empty area to the right as it adds to the sense of movement, giving them a space to dance into. I love the textures and colours of the skirts especially. Best wishes, Jonathan PS to answer Derek's point: the strobe look is probably due to the flashes of other peoples cameras and is quite a difficult effect to create on your own - might be worth a try though. derekwin 0 Posted January 9, 2006 thanks Jonathan I was wondering what was causing that effect. Link to comment
wesleybrownphoto 0 Posted January 27, 2006 Jeff, this is my favorite and is similar to some concert photos with no flash (don't want to blind a performer) I've been taking and will post soon (they're on my website already, if you're bored). I think the blurred motion with caught faces in one place give great results. I'd just crop down from the top to take away the distracting light (from the overall mood) and would leave the left as is. Congrats! Link to comment
