I think I'd like him better cropped more so he would be a little more obvious, but I think the backlit heron, and water reflections are wonderful!

Thank you Kim. I did think about cropping it. If there had been more time available I might have. I took this on my way to work this morning and ran it through Photoshop at lunch. That didn't leave much time for experimentation. That might be a good thing actually. :)

That's rough, having to look at scenery like this on your way to work! Yeah, I know what you mean, sometimes I mess with mine too much, and then I'm so confused that I don't know WHAT to do with it.

I have been in that situation. I think the best thing at that point is to set it aside for awhile and come back to it later. Of course there is no guarantee that will help but it may.

I have one specific photo I have been playing with for over a year. I just can't get it the way I want it. I must have started from scratch a dozen times at least.

Well, you could always put it on here and ask for suggestions and opinions from others. I don't know if that would help, but someone may have a fresh perspective on it that would help you decide. (ha, you know I just want to see your photos!)

You probably would like this one. Its a Canada Goose photo showing a fabulous wing fan. The bird is good but the background is awful. I have tried blurring the background and keeping the bird sharp but its a tricky masking job. I haven't been able to make it look natural enough to pass muster.

That's frustrating. Those are the times that I just cut out the subject and make the background something else. That's all I know how to do, however. You sure got great backgrounds on these photos.
