Nice balance and composition and beautiful picture. Too bad there were so few clouds.

I could cut this photo in half and still have two powerful images, the capture as a whole is very well composed and exposed. Beautiful colors front to back. I really like the inclusion of the grasses in the foreground, what an excellent eye you have for composition.

the foreground arrangement here is beautiful. i'd love to have seen the same shot taken about 10-15 minutes earlier with more color in the clouds.

Also an interesting shot, but IMHO not as nice as your Sunset_Grass. And the crucial difference is not in the composition, but in the hues.

Also (if I may) I'd prefer a very slightly different composition, move the tripod a bit to the right (to keep the foreground composition) and aim a bit more to the left. As I see it, there is waterway out of this bay between the hills/mountains. The fg rocks would protrude more to the water, creating an S curve of lighter water leading from the grass to the afterglow of sun. It just might do the trick.

I'd be glad if you could revisit the place and try it also this way...

Thanks for taking the time to make some suggestions. I will no doubt return to this spot again and attempt what you suggested. One of the problems is that this area has extreme tides, so to manage to get the same situation with the sunset and the water level can be quite difficult. I do appreciate your comments.

You have an outstanding gallery.

Thanks

Dave

BEAUTIFUL photos. No clouds??? I on the other hand, just returned from The Inside Passage including Tracy Arm, and there were so many clouds, I could barely get a photo out. Nice to see you had agreeable weather.
