sunapeephoto 0 Posted August 20, 2005 Shot from a canoe while he was doing some fishing. Really difficult to focus quickly enouhg to get a shot as autofocus was not functioning with the rocking of the canoe. Also sharpness suffered due to rocking of the canoe. This is a jpg version, but a much better/detailed raw version exists. Really looking for tips on shooting from a canoe if anyone has any. Thanks. Link to comment
peter_moore2 0 Posted August 20, 2005 I was doing the same thing on Thursday! http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=3644697 I prefer the slight head turn on yours to the straight profile on yours. YOu only get so many chances before it disappears below the surface again. Link to comment
MichaelChang 12 Posted September 18, 2005 Have you tried manual focus, John? Takes a bit of getting used to, but I've found rocking through the sweet (focus) spot a couple of times usually gets it right on, and if you have time (to divert your attention from the subject), the Focus-Lock indicator in the viewfinder can offer a useful visual aid. sunapeephoto 0 Posted September 19, 2005 Hi Michael, I usually will resort to manual focus after auto-focus gives me trouble. As I am fumbling to switch into manual focus, I must swear repeatedly at the camera, lens and subject before the manual focus will work. Don't know why the swearing works, but it must be done :) Thanks for the comments. John. Link to comment
