olli.pekonen 0 Posted August 20, 2005 Shot in Muoti2005 (Fashion2005) exhibition in ambient light. The clothes of the girls feature classical striped/dotted patterns of Marimekko fashion house of Finland. What do you think about it? Link to comment
olli.pekonen 0 Posted August 20, 2005 Whoa... the lowest ratings for the picture ever... I wonder what has happened? Is it really that bad of a picture? Can you please comment why you do not like it? Link to comment
tore 10 Posted August 21, 2005 I haven?t rate this picture but I think I know the answer. It?s a good photo but all the black arias and the distance to the models make it feel more like a good documentary picture than a good fashion shoot. Perhaps that one of the reasons? Best regards Tore Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted August 21, 2005 Well, I believe there are a lot of photonet members who have never read the rating standard. You can find it here. I have at least one shot which has both 7/7 and 1/1 - interesting. You now this already though: This shot is composed quite open (lense limited?). The key element is the pyramide, but it only covers about a sixth of the area. There is quite a lot of uninteresting area. Did you feel compelled to show the "Marimekko" and the designer titles. Why? Do they really add value or content? There is no foreground and thus there is a poor feel of depth. Think about the functionality: where would use this shot? Exposure-wise this has been challenging and has been a success. In any case it's not a bad shot, but in my opinion it really is a memento rather than a commericial/editorial photograph.
