jeff_henderson 0 Posted August 20, 2005 A shot taken while in Chicago recently. This is part of the stage area at The Millenium Park on Michigan Ave. downtown Chicago. Link to comment
apotheker 0 Posted August 20, 2005 Jeff,Fine capture. Sparked my curiosity as i could not tell what it was until i enlarged it from the thumbnail...which from my point of view is good. The DOF, crispness, & especially the tonality are superb. I experience somewhat a sense of planned confusion which is brought forth by both the architecture itself but amplified by your composition. I recall that a number of days ago the moon was almost full & was wondering if, with your appreciation of the moon, as to whether you were in the right place at the right time or if editing brought it to the image. All in all thanks for the shot,(would enjoy seeing a larger version). Link to comment
j_tubb 0 Posted August 20, 2005 Excellent eye for a complex and difficult shot. Could've looked like a jumble. Tonality a huge plus, also. What lens did you use? seems some D70 shots are soft, but this is not! Did you do anything to minimize moire? J Tubb Link to comment
jeff_henderson 0 Posted August 20, 2005 Hi, J Tubb, thank you for the comments. I used a Nikkor 17-35mm f2.8 lens at around 20mm at f11 to get the sharpness. I did nothing for moire. Funny thing about moire, you just never know when it is going to show up and in this instance it didn't, thankfully. Link to comment
jeff_henderson 0 Posted August 20, 2005 Gary, I must admit that the moon was placed there from another shot, but taken just the night before this one was, therefore the moon looked very similar to this. However, as I said, I cheated a bit just to add a little extra something to the shot. Thanks for taking the time to look and comment on my photo. Best regards, Jeff Link to comment
