This is an experiment with over-exposure. No post manipulation in PS has been done besides desaturation & cropping. Please tell me what you think. Yea or nay?

brilliant story telling jayme. i like this a lot, just enough texture in the face, more so than the next post, which, along with the story, is why i much prefer this one. portions of middle and ring fingers are blown out though on my monitor, which admittedly is a little bright.

Howard- Thank you. As always I respect your opinion, so I am pleased!

KP- Thank you!

Wolfgang- just what I was going for! YES! Thank you!

Ben- You are so very observant. I prefer this one over the other tight facial crop for the same reasons. You are right about the ring & middle fingers, they are a little blown. Also the tip of the little finger and an area of the pointer finger next to her face is a little blown. I can correct a little in PS. It's hard to tell on the web version, but it does make a significant change on the print version. Thanks Ben!

jayme, over time i find you are ahead of me on most things, but here's a suggestion nonetheless to deal with blown out parts -- clone from other parts of the same finger, use fade to calibrate so its not so obvious.

Wow Jamie, these are fantastic! Of the three I viewed I like this one best because of the expression and gesture.

I really like this "high key" effect. I don't really understand how you did it except that you exposed on the high side. You managed to keep quite a lot of detail and not give the image that blown out look of an over exposed photo.

Congrats! Wish your studio was close by and I'd come by.

Fantastic detail and a wonderful image of a 5-year old. My middle daughter is 5 - aren't they just the best at this age!

Warm regards.

This is my favorite of the 3 currently posted. As usual, great job on the eyes. Nice experiment with good results.
