Hi Michael,

well, the plane was supposed to arrive at mignight, it did so later, and the tour started at 8am. I was hoping it was not so visible I was tired.

The photos around the aegyptian bazaar were on the same day, but earlier.

regards

Maria

The view at the background is really nice. It would be much better if you'll give-up taking photoes with a mobile phone. Even though, it is a good one if we take in calcul this aspect. Am I wrong????

Hi Dan,

thanks for the comment.

Well, taking photos with the mobile phone has multiple reasons.

One is, I came to the idea this April in Vienna. My normal photo camera (the Praktika) ceased working, and I still was a day there, and wanted to take photos. So I remembered I have a mobile phone and used it ... The Praktika is still not repaired, I am using the Zenith. The Zenith ceased working also in Vienna, in 1992, just that by then it was on the first day of my stay there, but was of course repaired in the meantime.

Second, my normal photo camera does not have a flash. The mobile phone seems to work also in worse lighting conditions than the camera without flash. So I usually use the phone for interiors, where the light measurer of the camera shows me that even at 30 with 2.8 the light is not enough.

Connected to the above my hand tends to be more stable with the not so heavy mobile phone as with the manual analogue cameras, so the chances the image is not moved at bad light conditions increase.

For the same reason I am able to use it to put myself into the picture. I usually travel alone, and it is difficult to ask much too often other people who are around to take a photo of me, not to speak that those I cannot upload on the internet. And there are people who like more to see photos of me than photos made by me ... that's life ... The photos of my mother which feature me have a number of ratings I got only on two photos, although my mother cannot change a film in a camera not to talk of getting the right focus etc. Of course the ratings are lower, but the images nevertheless more popular.

Finally the mobile phone is good for when I run out of films, because you never know when you return somewhere. Recently I started even to do backup photos with it, namely taking the same photo with the analogue camera and with the phone, as on the phone I can immediately see that the photo is OK and know I am on the safe side.

Not to speak that when it is urgent an image with the phone is transfered much faster on the computer than developing the film (2 days after the film is full) + at least one week for the photoCD, which again I only let make after I have at least 80 photos worth scanning.

I have also analogue photos of that interesting background, I will look if some of them scanned and complete the comment.

Thanks for giving the occasion for this explanation :)

kind regards

Maria

OK, I have read the comments already made. Yes, a higher resolution

camera would be not bad. Yes, I was after arriving mid in the night,

so sleepy. A luck that I did not submit to the photo contest at the

congress I was attending in Istanbul, right?

thanks

Maria

In spite of what Dan says, I think you should keep shooting and posting your cell phone images.  This is one of the most interesting shots in your portfolio!
