Great first attempt I'd say. (very lucky to have that building to shoot too!! I'm almost salivating (sorry, that's gross!)). For me, might've composed a little lower (a little less of hte empty blue parts), and maybe (not sure here) would've left out the right angle. I think it actually adds a lot to the interest of the shot, but it also leaves the viewer with an uneven horizon (not sure if you can fix it with rotation alone as that might leave that left angled part lops-sided). Great idea overall though

Thanks, Jeff. There's no cure for the angle; rotation doesn't help. I opted for keeping the small right section vertical. Who knows?!?

My friend Peter Buehner just took a photo similar to this,

the building in your photo looks like oil paint- How did you do this?

or is it as is?

Thanks for the feedback, Mary. All I did with this shot was ratchet up the saturation a little in PS. I was pleased with the way it turned out.
