First Steps

teru

Technical details: F4.2 @ 1/125 seconds, ISO 100, lens at 20mm (95mm in 135mm terms).

Shot from far across the street. A few seconds later and I would have missed the moment because people started coming down on the other side of the stairs.

Shot from far across the street. Parents helping their child climb a

flight of stairs; a cliche, maybe, but I couldn't resist.

Ciao, I don't think that good art is ever a cliche, is just another view. I like it, and it has good perspective and composition and the Sepia tone gives it a very good feel.

Good shot.

The elements of a good photograph are here, but perhaps not quite in the right place. I think the railings bisect the picture too much and present us with a pointless space on the right. A few quick steps to the left would have balanced the image better. A few steps closer might also have emphasized even more the scale of the stairs and how daunting they would be for the child. Technically well done.
