Hello A.K. Felix & Brad:

This is a polished aluminum scupture that's about 8' in diameter and is located at our local art museum. I didn't see any indication the artist's name when I photographed it -- but I didn't look very carefully, either. I'll go back this afternoon and check again.

I was intrigued by the radial shape of the sculpture and by tilting the camera, was able to arrange for the dymanic angular plane to slash across the image. In the original capture, the similarity of the surface color and texture tended to obscure the drama of the shapes, so the hues you see here were added in Photoshop.

Thanks for your comments--jim

Very dinamic Jim, full of static movement...and the colors, the colors!! you are a colorist. Pnina

Pnina: it took about 20 minutes to photograph the sculpture... and at least three hours to get colors right. Since the underlying image was a dull gray, I had to build up triple masked-layers that used the "Overlay," "Multiply" and "Hard Light" blend modes at various opacities to achieve a feeling of depth and richness. --jim

Wonderful abstract. Compliments to you and the artist behind this. Very interesting to read about your work with the colours in the post-processing. Kind regards.
