jana 1 Posted August 7, 2005 I am the coldest of the Dunes sisters (see the "Dunes" folder). There are no emotions there. I am only the Form.. What do you think? Link to comment
christiankiely 0 Posted August 7, 2005 I'm thinking that perhaps cropping out the sky completely would create a very very interesting abstract. (I just dowloaded and played w/ your file in PS. Nearly square crop gives it a cool look. Anyway, interesting commentary on dunes... have to say that I feel differently about dunes. To me there are tons of emotions... timeless, endless, shifting, constant change, etc. Link to comment
jana 1 Posted August 7, 2005 Christian, thank you for your comment. I hope you viewed my other emotinal dunes.. thanks Jana Link to comment
jimg 0 Posted August 9, 2005 Something seems to be missing. I've seen several images equivalent to this one in composition. In my eye something extra needs to be present for this to stand out. Link to comment
jana 1 Posted August 9, 2005 Jim, Again, you have to view this in the context with the sister Dunes my "Dune "portfolio, as each dune represents a different character and emotion. I am not giving you the landscape here. This one represents coolness, Form. thanks Jana Link to comment
ivan colman 0 Posted August 31, 2005 A very simple motive, but you photographed it in a very impressive manner. There is a right balance of light and dark. The dark side is exposed just right to keep the details. I am impressed ! Link to comment

MVanttaja 0 Posted March 24, 2008 Hi Jana, Thanks for your comments on my Winter lake. Your stunning dunes remind me of my two years in Western Sahara. Dunes are fascinating in their basic architecture. You have found their very essential features. Very well done. I do have some film shots of dunes as well but will take a bit time before I will find them and get them converted to a digital form. Will follow up your journeys. Have a good time, luck too and take care. Cheers, Mauno Link to comment
