An EA-6 (electronics) just before touchdown. By tradition, each

squadron has one plane whose number ends in 00 which has the air

wing commander's name on it and has parts painted in brighter

colors. This is the "CAG Bird" for this squadron.

What a great angle for this shot. He still seems so high. I read your comment above. So how come the CAG flies in 502? He doesn't get 500?

Your composition on the shot is really very good. There's room for the action to unfold. Just enough negative space to give the plane somewhere to go. The deep, deep blue of the ocean provides a nice backdrop. This may be a dumb question but would you get in trouble for using a flash at this location? I'm assuming so.

Thanks Jamie. This is probably my favorite shot that I took on this trip but you are absolutely right. The CAG bird is 500. I saw that splash of red and thought I was looking at the CAG Prowler, but they must all have that. The CAG bird has a painted nose. I was probably more interested in my writing than in the picture. :-)

I took this from Vulture's Row, a balcony at the top of the island. It's the only place you can normally shoot from so most people's shots look similar (although I did get to shoot from the deck 3 times). I like this because it's a bit different. It was one of the last ones I took and it takes a bit of practice to get the timing down. Yes, it's forbidden to use a flash there at all times but, it's so far from the deck it wouldn't do you any good anyway. This is a crop of a 200mm shot.
