Haystack Rock, Night

Photo is of Oregon's other Haystack Rock in Pacific City--it is one

of the worlds largest monoliths and is about a mile off shore.

i really like this photo. There have probably been a million pics taken of haystack, but I bet very few include the parking lot! the slight yellow/peach tone also works well... makes me wanna hang out on the beach at night.

Very mysterious shot of the rock. I've been there hundreds of times but this is a new way of looking at the subject. Nice work!

Chris and Daniel, thanks for your nice comments. This, however, isn't the famous Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach. It's actually a many times larger one, also strangely named Haystack Rock, in Pacific City (Cape Kiwanda) in Oregon.

Yeah, I read your original comment. I knew which one it was. Nice shot! And no wonder that people get the one at Cannon and the one at Pacific City mixed up.

I pretty much agree with Daniel. This is an original viewpoint of a landscape feature. I like the way it adds a hulking sinister component to the otherwise everynight scene.
