This is a few hundred years old tree, now in a stoned condition, on a

Namib salt pan. The most important part of the tree- the Roots, were

needed when alive not only to get ankered in the salt pan, but to get

water from depth. Let me know how you like it. thanks Jana

Jana, I like the colors and composition here--especially how the root leads us into the frame. The lighting is very harsh, but I guess that's what you get in the desert! Also, you get extra credit for licking the salt to get the shot.

I find this photo the best I seen this month. personally I would have left out a part from the sky (and the tree) e.g. from just above the dunes (7/6)

Great shot , perhaps a lower viewpoint would move the horizon of the middle of the picture
