Anguish II
Nikon 8800 for the main subject, Nikon 5700 and Canon D60 for the various texture elements. Except for a few highlights added with PS brushes, the central image and all texturing was done photograpically...
The theme and techniques used in this composite are similar to those of "Anguish I" uploaded in 2003. The faces in both images originated as detail photos of bronze statues. The source for "Anguish I" is a statue on the Malecon in Puerto Vallarta by Mexican sculptor Sergio Bustamante called "In Search of Reason." The face is actually that of a singer.
For this image, I photographed a tortured figure that is among the tangle of bodies in Jules Dalou's "The Triumph of Silenus" located in Jardin Luxembourg, Paris. Silenus, by the way, is the oldest of the Greek satyrs.
