robertbrown 1 Posted July 27, 2005 Comments appreciated--I considered cropping the left some to get the guy in black a little less centered, but decided I liked the balance like this. Link to comment
marco_ruggiero 0 Posted July 27, 2005 I like the effects. It certainly is original and the Sepia/Yellow tinges make it somewhat surreal, but a good image. I also think thhe present crop enhances. Congrats. Marco Ruggiero Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted July 27, 2005 Marco, thanks for your comments. Here's the un-Photoshopped version. Link to comment
marco_ruggiero 0 Posted July 27, 2005 Thanks very much for sharing the original version, which by the way is as good an image. Also thanks for sharing the results, since I still use film camera, and I am just beginning to use Photoshop and I appreciate seeing what is possible in enhancing images. Thanks again and thanks for your interest. Marco Link to comment
paul_lanoue 0 Posted July 27, 2005 I like the composition and the photoshop work very much. I want to thank you for providing so much information. It is greatly appreciated. Link to comment
lars_brorson_fich 0 Posted July 27, 2005 I think the tone helps a lot in communicating the mood of a day at the beach. Perhaps it is right that the guy in the foreground should be in the golden section, but may be it will give a problem with the clouds in the background, and the fine light on the dunes at the fare left. orensztajn 0 Posted July 27, 2005 Even if the PS version is very nice done I have to say that I like more the original. The PS version is to unreal. Just my opinion. Very nice done and shooted. Link to comment
sef1664877429 0 Posted July 27, 2005 Balance seems good... I wonder how much his head meeting the dip in the background hills is contributing to that? The spread of people across the shoreline seems to work out well with the spread of the hills. Love the mid-stride catch of the girl. All the attention seems to be leading to the boy... the eyelines of the girl and man, the 'curve' of the people above him, the shine on the sand... and great toning, too. Link to comment
doug owens 0 Posted July 27, 2005 just one more reason why I'm hooked on this site. I have gotten to the stage where I would hate to miss seeing something like this. I love it! Great work. Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted July 27, 2005 Robert, I like this a lot. The players are well placed including the main player's head vis a vis the hills and the others spread along the shoreline. I like the toning as it accentuates the sunlight beautifully. What bothers me though is the halo around the main player. It is really jarring to me. Is this intentional? Link to comment
root 0 Posted July 27, 2005 I like both your capture and enhancement, but I wonder if it might look better with a little more breathing room on the top and bottom. Link to comment
alberto.prt 0 Posted July 29, 2005 Dreamlike atmosphere ... a great image. Could you share the PS manipulation involved? But only if you don't mind. I can only recognize a glow effect ... Best Alberto Link to comment
david robinson 0 Posted August 5, 2005 Robert, I consider this image to be rather exceptional. One of the best I have seen in a while. The dreamy quality of this moody image really places this on a different level. I would be very proud to have produced this image. Link to comment
