Linda, this image got my attention straight away. The bold and beautiful colour (no reference to the soapie intended!) is stunning as is the positioning of the two 'holes'.

Texture of the surface is very interesting indeed. However, is it me or is the surface ever so slightly out of focus?

By the way, may I ask what kind of lighting effects you employed in PS to get the final result?

Regards, M.

Unusual, attracting, mystifying... Great shot. Whatever it might be!... :)

What are we looking at? Hmmm! Challenging image. This image is about texture, patterns, composition, and light. Very nice.

Linda I love this! What pulled me in was the lighter textured area around the black shapes. I think this adds dimension to the overall appeal of the colored textures. Great choice of placement of the black squares!

Thank you, all....

In reply to Michael's inquiry, I used render/lighting effects in my CS program. I highlighted the squares with the omni spot, and then emphasized the red in the texture channel. The effect makes it slightly softer as it raises it visually....hope that answers your question!

Interesting composition, and the light is superb. Before I saw the title, I said to myself 'what great texture.' Wonderful image!

Hi Linda:

A texture study, but also a very fine exercise in design. I was curious how you achieved the subtle hightlighting around the cut outs, but I see you answered that above. Very simple. Very effective. --jim

Reminds me some what of a demented Ned Kelly X's 2 !

Really good work in PS on this one, wondered how you were going to make that flat lit piece of iron sing, and you did !

Wilson...it was an iron plate covering a work-hole in the sidewalk....not sure why the openings...maybe to allow gas to escape.

And to all who came to visit....sorry I don't always address and thank each of you personally. It depends on time restraints. But I do ALWAYS love to have you come visit, and share your perspective.

A BIG THANK YOU.
