...Men of the Navy II...

Flottans M䮠= Men of the Navy. Its a group of people that has worked

in the Navy (all sorts of work on the sea) that sing together. They

had a show today and i was asked to take a few photos. I got a few

good portraits and group portraits while they sang. Hope you enjoy

it. No crop, Handheld.

I think the first was better.

This is a great portrait of the man in the foreground, I think the men in the background, being out of focus, are distracting. Imo, the men in the background should be in the depth-of-field, or out. I rate this one 6/6

Personally, I think the DOF is great. The focus is on one gentleman, with the beard. Other individuals add to the story without distracting from the main subject. My comment and I'm sticking to it.

I rarely comment on cropping. However, a minor cropping adjustment in this case to focus only on the head & shoulders of the chap in the fore and this is a stellar portrait. Although, I can see the merits of the photo as is. The expressions of all three leave a lot to the imagination - which I think is a hallmark of a great shot. I can't help but think though that this fella - his face - he was born to be a sailor.
