Excellent outdoor portrait capturing a character so well. It looks like TRI X even though it was shot on a 10D - how did you desaturate it?

Miles, I coverted to grey scale and adjusted using curves. Then a bump on contrast and sharpness. Hope that offers some insight.

Howard, great to see you still pushing the limits of what great portraiture is all about. I will echo many of my predecessors here; I think they are right in believing you have pocket aces up your sleeve and are about to give us a four-of-a-kind on the flop!

The tones and the contrast make this one stand out. Composition is very good too.
