The background needs to be focus.

I like the idea and the composition, but it could have been a bit sharper. I notice some sharpening artefacts, so I guess you did what you could.

I don't agree that the background needs to be sharper. The focal point of the image is the wedding ring, rather than the identity of the bride. It's as if she were boasting that "I've won the prize" i.e. she has gotten some fellow to marry her, rather than her having to settle for a more casual type of sexual relationship, such as simply living together.

I completely agree with Bill on this. The focus is on the ring. I think there is enough sharpness to see the terrific expression on her face. Her expression and her body language work in concert together, but both don't have to be so prominent and in your face by being in focus.

This image really stands out for me as does much of your work.

I actually like the the face of the bride to be out of focus a little more and bring the hand close a little more to the lens. Great pic by the way.
