d-h 0 Posted July 20, 2005 Nice representation of colour and scene. I really like this shot of yours although IMHO the photo would benefit from a tilt to straighten the horizon/slated fence, slight cloud sharpen, crop out the compositional weakening bottom left shadow leaving a slice of grass and also the leave out the top cloud. Not to sound too harsh but with this ammended, you'll have a super shot. Link to comment

Landrum Kelly 64 Posted July 20, 2005 This is a good scene, with good balance, but either the shot was not in focus to begin with, or else post-processing has not brought out the full potential of what you captured. I would keep working on this one until the trees and grass look a bit sharper, without being oversharpened. Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted July 20, 2005 Thank you for your comments. Daren, I am not sure that to to straighten the fence would benefit a lot to the photo. Moreover, it was'nt straight in real. In aubrac, nothing is straight. On the other hand, I agree that the bottom shadow could be croped out, but the grass strip would the be too much tight for my taste, and I have chosen to let it as it is because it makes three dark strips and I like it in this way. Landrum, all seems in focus in my shot when I see it in the large version (2244 x 1496 pixels), but it is possible that the reduction in 800 pixels and the jpg compression has damage some details. colin carron 58,916 Posted July 21, 2005 The stylised foreground colours and formal composition are nice but I agree with Lannie there seems to me something a little odd about the post-processing, probably the trees against the sky. Link to comment
