For those who do not know, Ducati motorcycles are affectionately

referred to as Ducks (Duc) by their owners and fans. Here on the

motorcycle of Denise Talabach's 1965 Ducati 250 are the words "Make

way for ducklings". I saw this when she was returning to the pitlane

durring last months AHRMA event at Mid Ohio for a routine inspection

for oil. Oil in the rain can be hairy... I personally think these

racers have guts jsut getting out there let alone racing in the rain

on vintage bikes!

Thank you.. It was my first time shooting in the rain and with a 300 f/2.8 and my digital camera I was a little worried. :)

Norman, I like the whole folder, I would love to see some old bikes in action....I think Im gonna need to go to GoodWood, because alot of the bikes you posted were cool, but I need to see some old MV,nortons,Honda rc's etc......For some of these, or some new ones you might post, you should have filtered some B/W...Or even use some filters to "retro" them....I know from taking some old bike pics, I love to see the bikes in digital glory, but then I see the leathers the riders wear and it bothers me...making B/W enables to see the picture as a whole(IMO)....I hate to see a Beautiful old bike, and someone wearing brand new multicolored(Rocket leathers)....anyway good stuff

It's funny that you mention the leathers that the guys (and gals) are wearing... I told a friend of mine that it was very weird to see these old bikes with riders wearing what I have been referring to as "Heavy Metal Leathers". There is a guy here in NY that was racing an old Norton... I unfortunately didn't take too many photos of him because I really know nothing about bikes and furthermore didn't know he was there. I am supposed to go to another race in October... I will take more and post them for you. Take care, and thanks for stopping by and commenting on my shots!
