pnital 36 Posted July 19, 2005 All tri last uploads are from the same deserted houses area, but remains of cultivated fields are present. Thanks for your thoughts, Pnina Link to comment
phongkim 0 Posted July 19, 2005 Very nice photo! Not sure how do you feel about clonning out those power-lines and power-poles, I would probably clone them out. Either ways, nice shot as is! Link to comment
mspanakis 0 Posted July 19, 2005 I prefer the other two as the house here is rather far (and I need glasses...:-). As for the power lines, I cannot see them without glasses ! Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted July 19, 2005 Thank you Phong, you are right about the electric lines and I have cloned them...thanks for stopping by and commnt.. Manolis, but the lines on the earth have another dimention, and anyway your glasses are in your pocket...use them... Pnina Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted July 19, 2005 Manolis, we are writing together, read my previous comment to Phong and you... Link to comment
jeremy freeland 0 Posted July 20, 2005 I like this one, mostly because of how the unparallel lines of the crop remains and the earth between them lead into the pronounced verticals on the horizon - the trees, and the house walls. The clouds do a nice job of repeating the shape formed by the larger tree in the upper left - gives some nice continuity. Link to comment
kyang 0 Posted July 20, 2005 Pnina, all three are really good. This one I may like the most. Very well-composed. I love the detail and texture of fg. The bg cloud and trees add impact to the whole. Impressive work. Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted July 20, 2005 Welcome back, Pnina. Must be having a good time in Vienna. Already seen Reiner's gallery of photos of Vienna. Waiting for yours. This is my favorite as I like how the fields stretch itself, leading my eyes to the faraway waiting house on this beautiful day, by the look of the sky. Link to comment
jim kerr 0 Posted July 20, 2005 Gee Pnina, Vienna isn't very big is it?....Sorry, just couldn't help myself....Now seriously, you have made a good photo with a subject that would be hard for most to do anything with, simply by your good understanding of basics.....All the best ....Jim Link to comment
hiroya 0 Posted July 20, 2005 Hi Pnina, welcome back! How did you enjoy Vienna? I like this photo with interesting pattern of field and clouds in the sky. And other two are also well composed. I'm looking forward to see the photos you took in Vienna(already seen manipulated one :-) Link to comment
mbalzan 0 Posted July 20, 2005 Pnina, this is the one I prefer from all three, with all the different and colourful perspective lines and focal point, counterbalanced with the bunch of cypress trees. Very pleasant. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted July 20, 2005 To all of you. Vienna was a great experience especially because of the beauty of the city and more so because of the people I have met! Thanks for all your comments that are highly appreciated. Pnina Link to comment
paula grenside 0 Posted July 20, 2005 Hello, Pnina. What about a walk...er a seven hours' walk? ;-) I love these best of the three uploads; the perspective is excellent and thelines converge to the little house. Great exposure and light. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted July 20, 2005 Pulok for stopping by and commenting. Paula, OK, 7 hourse... we already know how...change your shoes... Thanks for your comments and scoring. Pnina Link to comment
atkphotoworks 0 Posted July 20, 2005 Pnina, although I like all three, this one is my favourite for some reason. The lines and the angles mostly and of course the general scenery. I also like the colours but tried something in PS where I converted it to sepia. I also burned the sky a bit and sharpened the foreground. Link to comment
afterthoughts 0 Posted July 21, 2005 I find this shot interesting. It makes you stop and think and wonder. My reaction is this is a picture of human history. Link to comment
jimmcnitt 0 Posted July 21, 2005 My favorite, I think because the converging lines are so nicely balanced by the lone stand of poplars. I'm also taken by the incredibly soft pastels on the fair-weather cumulous. --jim Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted July 21, 2005 Beautiful composition. Aesthetically this image is more appealing to me. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted July 21, 2005 Pnina, I agree with Amar here (though I like tour colour version) , this one has the greatest impact for me. I am reminded of that painting of Napoleon's retreat from Moscow (OK, it is covered in snow, there is a man on a horse and an army there) It has the same sense of retreat and defeat. Here the blackened track marks scorch the earth. The strong composition helps the sense of desolation. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted July 21, 2005 To all of you! Amar, thanks for your suggestion, it is for sure a possibility and a good one! but it takes the colors of the land and of the harvest remains, and for me the natural colors prevail. Howard Yes, human history are all 3 of them... Jim and Amal, I'm glade it talks to you. Colin, WOW, where it has taken you! from here to the Russian Tundra...! well that is realy human history ( that Howard mentioned),and realy nice to see the distance human association can wander. Thanks again. Pnina Link to comment
