mute_swan_photography 0 Posted July 17, 2005 This egret was jumping around quite a bit. The AF was having a hard time in the clouds and with the waves. I am glad I caught him ruffled up. I used to avoid these photos on cloudy days but it seems I don't have much choice these days. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted July 17, 2005 Good control of the lighting - the whites are not blown out. I like the detail in his feathers. Nice! Link to comment
cappoldt 0 Posted July 21, 2005 This would have been an awesome opportunity for fill-flash! It's tricky business, but easy to get the hang of. Check out the issue of Popular Photography just hitting the news stands- there's a great article in it by Art Morris on how to do it with birds specifically. Really glad you loved Sunken Meadow - they were acting nuts down there tonight. . . light was great, too. Low tide is around 6:00 pm for the next few days, right when the sweet light starts. Get down there again - you'll love it! The 300mm is fine for those posing osprey - perfect in fact, especially to get all of the wings in! Link to comment
