It's a tough job but somebody's got to do it. This is the cheap way to use a medium format camera. After all I am Scottish!!! Just a bit of fun!

Feedback appreciated on this or any of my work.

Love it David. Saves $50,000AUS on a phase one back for the medium format. Even the little bit of the ladies foot in the far right of the frame. Is it focused on the focus screen, or is it the matt glass that seems to dissolve it a little?

David, This concept is just one more reminder of your playfulness and creativity. Overall, I think it's well done. It certainly pulls the viewer in. I have two minor quibbles. One is the foot/toe creeping in on the right edge of the frame. The other is that the model doesn't appear to be in one of your creative trademark poses. I think she needs a beer can, some red trainers, or perhaps some fresh produce.

I hope you explore this concept further. I think it would make a great series!

Great creativity as always. Better DOF would help it a great deal but I can understand the technical difficulty you faced with this one. This is a series that you can run with, and I hope you do. I look forward to a beer can as well in the near future. 6/6 despite the DOF problems.

Really excellent concept, thinking out of the "box" kind of images. I love the tip of the toes just at the edgy of the frame. Maybe putting a part of the photographer's finger on the cable release into the frame would also work.

Very nice, do we get to see the image from the session????

Jim, Thanks for taking the time to comment. I am glad you like it. I think it is OK. At least I like the idea.

David # 1, A$50,000, I am too mean to put film in it. Actually there is film in it and I will upload the results if they are good. (Not sure when though!)

The focus us on the edge of the top of the camera.

Scoota, That means a lot to me. Thanks!

David # 2, Glad you like it. I guess I will have to do another version with a beer can soon.

Laurie, I always value your opinion. I must say that the 2 quibbles you have are not the not the quibbles I thought you would have. I did think of asking the model to move her toe out of the frame but I realised that leaving it there would make people realise that this was a real photograph and not a photoshop creation. As for having my trademark object in the frame, I am really surprised that you would want this. Expect it YES! Want it NO! However, since more than one person has mentioned this, (see above and below your comment) I guess I will have to do a version with a beer can or something similar. Thanks Laurie!

Owen, This is by no means perfect. I do intend to do this again with more DOF. I wanted to do it straight away but the model had to leave. You are correct though! There were huge technical difficulties with this one. I will try harder next time.

Alex, I think I was thinking 'in the box' with this one. Just joking Alex. Your suggestion for the finger to be on the shutter release was impossible with the set up I had but it was in my mind. Maybe next time!

As mentioned above Alex, if the photos from the session are good I will upload them. (Both the film and the digital!)

Everyone, I am very flattered by the positive and useful comments made by all. Thanks to everyone. It is very much appreciated!

"the 2 quibbles you have are not the not the quibbles I thought you would have"

So now I'm curious.

Regarding the toe...I now understand your very valid reasons for inclusion. Perhaps even more of the foot next time?

I really like your concept of including this camera in your photos and I'm glad you plan to do more!

Incredible photo. This is just such a voyeuristic image and so well done. Excellent shot.

Laurie, I can't tell you what 'quibbles' I thought you might have had but the 2 you mention were not what I would have thought. Certainly I did not expect to read of your desire for a beer can or something similar. You may be curious.... I am confused. Thanks again.

Benjamin, I like the photo. It is as you describe. My own feeling is that it could be better. I will certainly try. Your words are kind and they are appreciated.

do an excellent job using kiev 88cm with right set of lenses (not like you would really need this camera) you do great without it! Impressive porfolio, always creative, thank you for your time!

Kind words Natasha! I am 'playing' with the Kiev 88 for now. I hope to have some results soon! If they are good, I will upload them if they are good.

David, excellent photo. I'm sure someone will be offended by it and complain to Brian who will feel duty bound to remove it in another month or so.

Interesting comment. If you read the comments here, you will see a request to upload the picture taken by the Kiev. I did so.... it was removed.
